FD, this ‘baba ji’ character of yours seems to have been inspired from Ashfaq Ahmed….n like him, baba ji has passed down his words of advice beneath the blankets of philosophy and compassionate generosity, though unlike him without narrating any relevant story. To me unfortunately the message seemed bleached out by that peeking-out impression ‘zaawiya’ seems to have cast over this particular write-up; i believe the success of your words is directly proportional to novelty of expression and style of the narrator. The thought and idea despite being new, rather quite soofiyana, appeared submerged/drowned by that hefty influence just mentioned and while my mind was comprehending these lines, my inner eye was reviewing some episodes of Zawiya……it might all be my presumptuous guessing and false perception, yet i would say that reclame and ever-lasting vitality of your words require more innovative creation…best of luck for the next piece!!!

    Thank you all.

    @ Fatirah
Thank you for your appreciation, Fatirah. As far as the delivery of the message is concerned, I feel honored to be associated with the great Ashfaq sb. But still I would like to add one thing that I actually have come across a baba g in my life, who is Imam masjid in B Block Gulberg II Lahore. He is just like my mentor. My teacher. Whenever, I write any piece of this particular type, I try to imagine him or any scholarly persona like him. I know himSo my imagination drives this way. Besides, following this particular style of expression is that it is effective and meaningful. Advising something to others in a direct way, at times, makes him/her tiresome and bored. So this way works! So it’s about my own inspiration that I got in my life. Interestingly it is similar to Ashfaq sb and this makes me more elated and humbled. :)

FD.Sheikh, Following the path of Tasawuff, we often come across a state termed in Suffism as “State of Qabz and Bast – contraction and expansion of feelings”
this small article explains the whole crux of it. Boht acha likha hai MashAllah

    Good one.
It reminds me of a dialogue from drama “man-chaly ka soda” written by Ashfaq Ahmad. I am quoting here as it is,
Dada: (Muskura kar) phir tou aur bhi acha beti…. dawa tou un-maney ji sy bhi pi raho tou araam deti hai.
