My Diary Replies…

05 May

Dear Diary,

Weeping, weeping, weeping… My heart is weeping …! Neither did I succeed nor the efforts of other writers proved to be fruitful. We could not articulate “Truth” aptly. We could not enlighten the bitter fact that “we are moving towards failure, towards devastation and towards annihilation.” We could not demonstrate that what we are earning through our lives is nothing but just a voucher to hell, a ticket to doom and a source of fury of our Creator.

Many articles have been written and many stories have been published, revealing the wrong path which we people and our media are following in the name of “modernism and entertainment.” But unfortunately, every effort was in vain. Every attempt proved to be a scrap, as it could not bring a positive change in society. Rather, conditions are getting worse as more and more channels are broadcasting such programmes that utterly contradicting with our real purpose of life.

Why don’t the people of our society comprehend that our culture and civilisation is no less than that of the west? Why do they vacillate and feel embarrassed while following eastern traditions? Despite knowing that these laws and traditions are the ultimate source of success and honour, why are they perplexed?

Diary, you know how dejected and crestfallen I feel today? My heart is down in the dumps. Today, I want answers to all my questions, which are torturing my heart for the last many days. When I see indecent TV shows and vulgar dramas in the name of fun and entertainment, my heart is overwhelmed with sorrow. Is this entertainment? Is it modernism?

Tell me, why are the eyes of government closed towards this dilemma? Why do we not realise the preciosity of our traditions, our culture? Why do we not own our own assets?

From Diary,

FD! It is said that when one commits a sin, a “black spot” is pasted on one’s heart. If one does not plan to get rid of this particular blot, it starts expanding and gradually it envelopes the whole heart. And when the heart is enveloped, there remains nothing except obscurity and ignorance.

Sorry to say but the people of your society are going through the same dilemma. They are not realising that in the name of fun and entertainment they are going “beyond the limits”. Their hearts and minds have been conquered by these offensive activities. The fact is that these people are not alive. They are corpses, walking corpses who have nothing to do with spirituality, morality, virtues and ethical obligations. They just yearn for food, water and air to keep them walking.

Friend, as far as your efforts are concerned, they have not proved to be fruitful as you too do not want to change yourself personally. You articulate the “Truth” in your writings but you yourself don’t follow what you write. So, what can you expect from others? You have to mend yourself first, my dear. You vacillate and feel embarrassed while following eastern traditions as you have never tried to come closer to them and feel their essence. And in this particular context, your parents are also responsible. Pardon me please, but they are!

Another fact is that the people of your society are standing in the midst of evil and virtue. Mirza Ghalib once quoted truly, “Eman mujhay rokay hai, jo khenchay hai mujhy kufr…Kaba meray pechy hai, klesa meray agay”. (The power of evil attracts me, that’s why I’m not steady on the path of my religion.) This couplet portrays you and your society today.  Man should be firm in his faith, my dear. Inauspiciously you are not! Read your religion and read your history. It would unveil the gorgeousness of your past to you and eventually you would also be inclined towards your religion and your faith would get strengthened!

Dear friend, before blaming the government for this dilemma, you have to consider one thing: evil nations have evil leaders. Instead of criticising the government, one needs to take a look at oneself. Albeit, government policies are not fair enough in this regard and it isn’t obstructing the media. However, you are also the culprit of this predicament. You should not forget that you are more powerful than the government itself. Just recall the story of “farmer and his four sons.” You just need to be united. You can bring a revolution, but through “peace” not by harming your own “assets”. You know this universal truth that “the pen is mightier than the sword”. Educate yourself. Educate your family. Educate your friends and others.

Therefore, there is no need to feel crestfallen or dejected. It’s a great indication that you comprehend that society is going wrong. You are young, passionate and determined. You can do whatever you want. Things are for you, you are not for them. Be optimistic and carry on with your efforts. One day they all will prove to be fruitful.

Regards,

 Your own, Diary

Thank you so much, Sadiya for the profound praise. :)
After watching some particular shows in the name of “entertainment” (on some very dear TV channels of ours) I could not resist myself . I wish we could bring a “change”, a chance in real terms. Ameen.
