Attitude says it all

15 Jul

09He was one of my favourite TV anchors. To me, he was an energetic and dynamic presenter. I would eagerly watch his talk show early in the morning. His intellectual thoughts and decent way of communication were the key traits of his personality, and, undoubtedly, the chief reason of my inclination towards him. But when I met him for the very first time, literally speaking, his shoddy response put me off.

I sometimes wonder why celebrities and other public figures tend to have such a haughty attitude towards their fans/subordinates. At first, when they step into their respective fields, they are social, friendly, polite and humble. But soon as they become famous, the humbleness and politeness disappears. One of my friends who works for an English newspaper tells me that many young sportsmen literally request him to publish their ‘photograph’ to get into the spotlight. But once they become popular, they don’t even bother to return your greetings politely. An artist, sportsman, writer or any star is only in demand because of his fans.

This rule doesn’t apply to celebrities merely. Any person from any other race of life, if the person is rude to his addressees/fans/subordinates, the person is never going to be truly victorious in terms of ruling the hearts of others.

“Whenever someone achieves a ‘position’ in life, he is appreciated by others which besides enhancing the confidence level, sometimes gives rise to superiority complex (and often the designation itself boosts superiority complex). So this leads to feelings of haughtiness,” says Aamnah Aziz Shah, student of psychology.

One should have a moderate approach in every aspect of his or her life. A decent and courteous way of communication is always bound to have a positive impact on one’s personality. Their attitude is their image and also that of the organisation they are representing. Similarly, fans are also supposed to be civilised in every manner.

Whether you are an artist, business tycoon, the prime minister of a country or even the pusher of a handcart, your status survives only with the performance of your work, your responsibilities. You will be acknowledged only if you handsomely fulfil your tasks. And the accomplishment of our tasks is depends on the will of the Creator. Our abilities are His blessings on us. No one knows what lies ahead, and if one is so vulnerable, is there any need to be proud? We ought to be humbly grateful to our Creator who has granted uncountable blessings on us. Otherwise, we are nothing more than a speck in this wide universe.
